$UICIDEBOY$
Formed in New Orleans in 2014, $uicideboy$ unites cousins Scott Arceneaux Jr., known as $crim, and Aristos Petrou, known as Ruby da Cherry. The American duo pursues a dark strain of rap at the crossroads of Southern trap, cloud rap, horrorcore and a punk sensibility, with songs focused on depression, addiction, anxiety and death. $uicideboy$ first emerged via a series of EPs and mixtapes released online under the name Kill Yourself, then through a steady stream of releases on G*59 Records, the imprint tied to their universe. Their debut studio album, I Want to Die in New Orleans, arrived in 2018, followed by Stop Staring at the Shadows (2020), Long Term Effects of Suffering (2021), Sing Me a Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation (2022) and New World Depression (2024). In parallel, $uicideboy$ have issued several collaborative projects with artists such as Black Smurf, Germ, Ramirez and Shakewell. On stage they navigate between underground rap, large venues and festivals, with a raw aesthetic where $crim and Ruby da Cherry’s alternating flows blend confession, tension and dark melodies.
