Gates to Hell

Active since the late 2010s in Louisville, Kentucky, Gates to Hell occupies a clear intersection of hardcore, death metal and American extreme metal. The band develops a dense, frontal sound built on dark riffs, sudden brutal accelerations, heavy rhythmic breaks and abrasive vocals, with an aesthetic that draws as much from the violence of contemporary hardcore as from the textures of 1990s death metal. Gates to Hell first emerged on the underground circuit with several short-format releases before issuing the album Death Comes to All in 2024. The band's trajectory remains tied to Louisville's heavy scene and to a network of venues, tours and bills shared with acts from metallic hardcore and current death metal.
