Mugshot

Formed in San Jose, California, Mugshot operates at the crossroads of hardcore and metalcore, delivering tense, compact and abrasive music built around heavy riffs, fractured tempos and a frontal vocal style. Mugshot gained notice with Dull Boy in 2016 and continued to work the American hardcore scene before entering a new phase in 2023 with the EP Cold Will, the band's first release on Pure Noise. That period also coincided with the arrival of singer Ringo Waterman alongside guitarist Michael Demko, drummer Connor Haines and bassist Ciro Abraham, a quartet that further tightened Mugshot’s songwriting. Their sound blends the impact of beatdown, the dryness of modern hardcore and a darker edge, while retaining a direct, physical approach. Lyrically, Mugshot moves away from strictly political commentary to examine more intimate effects of domination, anger, doubt and the rupture with the religious world several members were raised in. Recorded in New Jersey with Randy Leboeuf, All The Devils Are Here continues this evolution with a denser, harsher approach.
