Jaguar Sun

In Hamilton, Ontario, Jaguar Sun takes shape around singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Chris Minielly. The project emerged in the late 2010s within an indie pop register where dream pop, jangle pop and soft rock intersect, with songs built on clean guitars, understated keyboards, supple rhythms and a hushed vocal. Initially tied to studio writing, Jaguar Sun later became a full band and positioned itself in the Canadian indie scene through a steady stream of singles, EPs and albums, including Boss Forever in 2020. Jaguar Sun's music remains attached to short, melodic pop formats, often tinged with melancholy and a bedroom-pop aesthetic, without losing a careful attention to arrangements. Over the course of releases, Jaguar Sun has broadened its palette toward a fuller production while retaining an intimate approach characterized by gentle choruses, airy textures and very direct, sentimental songwriting.
