KennyHoopla

Born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in Wisconsin, Kenneth La’ron develops under the name KennyHoopla a project that moves between pop punk, indie rock and echoes of post‑punk and new wave, often infused with an energy close to alternative rap. Initially active online in the mid‑2010s, KennyHoopla drew attention at the end of the decade with a series of singles blending abrasive guitars, melodically shouted choruses and introspective lyrics. In 2020, the EP “how will i rest in peace if i’m buried by a highway?//” collected these early tracks and established a sonic framework characterized by nervous rhythms, simple, direct harmonies and a lo‑fi aesthetic inherited from internet culture. The following year, the project “Survivors Guilt: The Mixtape//” (2021), largely shaped together with drummer‑producer Travis Barker, more clearly affirmed KennyHoopla’s pop punk orientation, between fast tempos and structures close to emo rock. Based in the United States, KennyHoopla performs concerts and tours, moving from small venues to larger stages while maintaining songwriting focused on the tensions of young adulthood, the feeling of isolation and a certain nostalgia for the 2000s.
