Return to Dust

Formed in Los Angeles in 2022, Return to Dust operates within a musical range that intersects grunge, hard rock, alternative rock and alternative metal. The band functions as a quartet made up of Matty Bielawski, Graham Stanush, Sebastian Gonzalez and London Hudson, with songwriting focused on thick guitars, heavy rhythms and vocal work that recalls the legacy of 1990s American rock, notably Alice in Chains. Return to Dust first drew attention with the Black Road EP in 2023, before releasing their self-titled debut album Return to Dust in 2024. That release marked a step in establishing themselves on the contemporary rock scene and was accompanied by a tour with Sevendust, broadening their exposure to hard rock and alternative metal audiences. In 2025, Return to Dust continued that trajectory with the EP Speak Like the Dead, which extends a dark, direct aesthetic at the intersection of melodic alternative rock and heavier riffs. The band thus operates in a space where grunge codes are reworked in a contemporary form without abandoning a fairly upfront approach to the rock format.
