Goth Babe
Goth Babe is the project of Griff Washburn, an American musician born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, who moved via Nashville and New York before settling on the West Coast. Launched in 2015, Goth Babe was developed as a solo project at the intersection of indie rock, indie pop, chillwave and folktronica, with songs defined by light guitar lines, supple rhythms and subtle electronic textures that shape a often bright, relaxed melodic approach. Before issuing a full-length album, Goth Babe circulated a series of singles and EPs that established this direct format—between pop songwriting, a lo-fi touch and a seaside atmosphere. In 2020, Griff Washburn contributed as Goth Babe to the charity compilation The Song is Coming From Inside the House, organized by Strange Ranger. His trajectory also includes the US independent live scene, notably a performance at the Hinterland festival in 2022. In 2024 Goth Babe released Lola, the project’s first album, after several years of development carried out largely solo.
