Apache 207
Between melodic rap, urban pop and R&B influences, Apache 207 has established himself with a sing‑rap style marked by sung choruses and nocturnal atmospheres. Born Volkan Yaman in 1997 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany, into a working‑class family of Turkish immigrant background, he drew attention from 2018 onward with tracks released online that quickly placed him in the German‑language rap landscape. His signing to the label TwoSides, founded by Bausa, structured his trajectory and led to the EP Platte in 2019, which sketched out a universe between slow trap, touches of funk and synths with 1980s sonorities. His early successes rapidly went beyond the rap sphere, driven by writing focused on relationships, money, social mobility and the tensions between outward success and intimate vulnerabilities. With Treppenhaus in 2020 and Gartenstadt in 2021 — the latter referencing the neighborhood of his childhood in Ludwigshafen — Apache 207 broadened his palette toward a more expansive pop‑rap while retaining elements of German street rap and highly melodic constructions. Collaborations with Bausa and other figures from German rap strengthened his stage presence, where he fills major tours and general‑audience festivals in a format that blends rap‑concert codes with contemporary pop aesthetics.
