Bausa

Born in Saarbrücken in 1989, Bausa, whose real name is Julian Otto, established himself in German-language rap with a melodic style at the border of hip-hop, urban pop and singing. He emerged in the mid-2010s with the EP Seelenmanöver, released in 2014, and then he went on to collaborate in the German rap scene, notably with Capo, Bonez MC, RAF Camora, Kontra K, Celo & Abdi, Sido, Miss Platnum or Prinz Pi. His first album Dreifarbenhaus appeared in 2017 and established a style that blends flexible flows, sung choruses and accessible trap productions, without breaking with the codes of rap. In the same year, Bausa broadened his audience significantly with the track Was du Liebe nennst, which leaves a lasting mark on German pop-rap with its mix of light melancholy, melodic effectiveness and direct language. He then continued with the albums Fieber (2019) and 100 Pro (2021), evolving his music toward formats more open to song while preserving a clear hip-hop base. In the German landscape, Bausa thus occupies a bridging role between mainstream rap, pop toplines and contemporary urban sounds, with regular live performances and festival circuit presence.
