Major League DJz

Major League DJz bring together twins Bandile and Banele Mbere, a duo based in South Africa whose trajectory began in Johannesburg's club circuit before expanding to the African and international electronic scenes. Initially associated with local hip-hop and the new‑age kwaito of the early 2010s, they later gravitated toward amapiano and evolved their repertoire into a blend of afro‑house, 3‑step and deep electronic rhythms, with a strong emphasis on percussion, supple basslines and progressive buildups. Their career spans both club formats and filmed platforms such as Balcony Mix Africa and Piano City, conceived as spaces for the circulation of artists and sounds from southern Africa. Major League DJz also advance projects through their label Untitled Audio, maintaining a continuity that links dancefloor, visual media and international distribution. Over the years they have shifted their center of gravity from a pronounced South African anchoring to a broader proposition where amapiano dialogues with afro‑house and other forms of contemporary African electronic music.
