Zora Jones

Emerging from a context where experimental club music intersects with image and performance, Zora Jones has developed since the early 2010s a body of work as a producer, DJ and visual artist spanning bass music, deconstructed rhythms and pop-tinged electronics, traversed by processed voices and spectral textures. Zora Jones released the EP 100 Ladies, then in 2014 co-founded with Sinjin Hawke the platform Fractal Fantasy, conceived as a flexible framework for musical and audiovisual projects that the duo presents on stage as a constantly evolving AV live. At the same time, Zora Jones has pursued a solo trajectory with short formats, including Vicious Circles on Planet Mu, and collaborated with artists from club and experimental scenes such as Jlin, La Zowi, Scratcha DVA and Heavee. Her first album, Ten Billion Angels, released in 2020, gathers this approach across 11 tracks where fragmented pulses, shifting basslines and ghostly vocal presences make for physical, unstable and dense music. Onstage as in the studio, Zora Jones works with a compositional practice rooted in rhythm, tension and the transformation of club music forms.
