Fridayy

Born in Philadelphia to a Haitian family, Fridayy developed a style that sits between contemporary R&B, melodic rap and soul with gospel inflections. Initially active as a producer and songwriter, he drew attention in the early 2020s by bringing sung hooks and introspective writing to tracks in the American hip‑hop scene. His breakthrough accelerated in 2022 with his contributions to DJ Khaled's 'God Did', alongside Jay‑Z, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross and John Legend, and with Lil Baby's 'Forever'. Since then Fridayy has alternated releases under his own name and collaborations with artists such as Chris Brown, Moneybagg Yo and Swedish House Mafia, in a format that blends piano, slow tempos, soul textures and trap rhythms. His debut album, Fridayy, was released in 2023 and continues this approach centered on singing, harmonies and songs halfway between confessional R&B and contemporary American rap.
