Anz

Based in Manchester, Anz has been developing since the late 2010s an approach to club music that moves between electro, UK garage, jungle, breakbeat and British bass music, with a marked taste for mobile rhythms, flexible basslines and crisp vocal edits. Anz emerged in 2017 with a self-titled debut EP, then refined this writing on Invitation 2 Dance in 2019, where the direct energy of the dancefloor blends with very legible UK references without sticking to a single register. In 2020, she released Loos In Twos (NRG) on Hessle Audio, a short format that reinforces her place in the English club scenes, between rave tensions, electro textures and jungle impulses. Parallel to her productions, Anz has built a highly identifiable DJ profile, through mixes aired on NTS and BBC Radio 1, as well as regular appearances in the circuits of festivals and clubs dedicated to contemporary electronic music. Her S/S Dubs series, composed of original productions, shows an open practice that links local traditions and the international circulation of club music. In 2021, Anz also launched the OTMI label, conceived as a space for her tracks and those of close artists, before releasing All Hours the same year on Ninja Tune, extending this fluid way of assembling rave heritage, UK club and a sense of rhythmic detail.
