Arapu

Born in Romania, Arapu is part of the Romanian minimal house scene that emerged around the turn of the 2010s, characterized by a language centered on groove, long transitions, and a rhythmical tension that endures over time. A DJ since adolescence, he develops a mixing approach based on continuity, with selections of house and minimal house featuring soft bass, detailed percussion and clean, pared-down structures. Arapu quickly circulates on the European underground scene and makes his mark in both club and festival contexts, notably in lineups linked to Circoloco, Sunwaves, and Caprices, where his style adapts to stretched and narrative sets. Alongside his DJ activity, Arapu produces music faithful to this aesthetic, built on repetitive motifs, a very present lower end and discreet variations that favor the track’s internal movement. In 2015, Arapu launched the label Liniar, conceived as an extension of his sonic universe and as a framework for releases aligned with this vision. Between international DJ sets, productions and label work, Arapu occupies a durable place in the European network of minimal house, with a career rooted in the culture of dancefloors and long formats.
