Eddie Richards

Born in Amersham, Buckinghamshire and active since the 1980s, Eddie Richards is part of the history of British electronic music at the crossroads of house, techno and what would later be identified as tech house. First noticed in London as a DJ at Camden Palace, then at Clink Street alongside Mr. C, Eddie Richards early on helped establish house in English clubs at a time when the acid house scene was transforming London's nightlife. His career continued with organizing the Outer Limits party in Bletchley between 1989 and 1990, founding the Dy-na-mix agency in 1990, followed by a lasting presence in London's underground circuit, notably via Wiggle nights and regular stints at Fabric. Under the names Eddie Richards, Evil Eddie Richards or Jolly Roger, he develops a precise, flexible and minimalist sound, based on dry grooves, deep bass and a mixing approach focused on progression rather than effect. In terms of productions, his discography includes notably 'Acid Man' in 1989 under the alias Jolly Roger, The Dark EP in 2002, 9660 EP in 2003, the Fabric 16 mix in 2004, Classics EP in 2010 and Nocturnal EP in 2019, released on various labels in Europe and the UK.
