Ummet Ozcan

Born in Putten, the Netherlands, into a family of Turkish origin, Ummet Ozcan has since the mid-2000s built a career spanning technical trance, electro house, big room, progressive house and, more recently, techno. His first maxi singles released from 2007, followed by tracks such as 'Timewave Zero' (2009) and 'Arcadia' (2010), initially established him in a tense, melodic strand of electronic music focused on club effectiveness. In the early 2010s his work shifted more towards festival EDM, with productions featuring progressive builds, pronounced synthetic motifs and straightforward rhythms. He collaborated with W&W, R3hab, NERVO, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Tiësto and Lucas & Steve, while remaining active on international club and festival circuits. From the late 2010s he broadened his palette, launched OZ Records and more clearly incorporated elements of techno, hard dance and more diverse cultural references. His discography notably includes the 'Alter Ego' EP, released in 2020 under the alias Baas, as well as the 'Shaman' EP in 2023.
