Tobi Neumann

Active between Munich, Frankfurt and Berlin, Tobi Neumann has since the 1990s developed a trajectory at the crossroads of house, minimal house, deep house and tech house, with long sets built on a logic of progression rather than effect. Before his activity as a DJ, Tobias Neumann worked as a sound engineer, a composer for image, and a producer, a background that illuminates the precision of his productions and remixes. His entry into the German club scene becomes clear in Munich, where he became a Muffathalle resident in 1997, then co-founded in 1998 the Flokati party at Ultraschall II, an important meeting point of the local house scene that he would continue to support thereafter. Tobi Neumann then collaborates with Chicks on Speed, Bananafishbones, DJ Hell, Sven Väth, WestBam, Miss Kittin, 2raumwohnung, and Jazzanova, while releasing his own tracks and forming the project Glove with Thies Mynther. Among the verifiable discographic milestones are the track Footsteps in 2001, the Glove releases Drogenkontrolle in 2001 and Wunderbar in 2003, as well as his production work on Miss Kittin’s Professional Distortion in 2003. Present on stages such as Loveparade, Mayday, Sonar or SonneMondSterne, Tobi Neumann is part of a history of German electronic music linked as much to the club as to the studio.
