The Intersphere

Formed in Mannheim, Germany by musicians who had passed through the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg, The Intersphere plays an alternative rock with strong progressive inflections, where melodies remain central despite dense rhythms, interwoven guitars and a pronounced sense of dynamism. First active under the name Hesslers, the band released s.o.b.p. in 2006, before revisiting this repertoire under the name The Intersphere in 2009, a moment that accompanied rising visibility on German rock stages and festivals. Around Christoph Hessler, Thomas Zipner, Moritz Müller and, since the mid-2010s, Daniel Weber on bass, The Intersphere develops a four-musician format based on collective interaction rather than the opposition between lead guitar and rhythm guitar. This approach is reflected on Interspheres >< Atmospheres in 2010, Hold On, Liberty! in 2012, Relations in the Unseen in 2014, The Grand Delusion in 2018 and Wanderer in 2023. Across these records, The Intersphere broadens its spectrum with more atmospheric textures and some contributions of keyboards or strings, without leaving a taut, precise and organic rock bedrock. The band's trajectory has also been built on sustained live activity in Germany and Europe, with notable club and festival appearances.
