The Dangerous Summer

Formed in 2006 in Ellicott City, Maryland, The Dangerous Summer occupies an American rock vein that blends alternative rock, emo and pop-punk, featuring melodic guitars, straightforward tempos and songwriting focused on intimate tensions, relationships and the transition to adulthood. The band first drew attention with the EPs There Is No Such Thing as Science and If You Could Only Keep Me Alive in 2007, before releasing Reach for the Sun on Hopeless Records in 2009, followed by War Paint in 2011 and Golden Record in 2013. Present on circuits such as The Bamboozle and the Warped Tour, The Dangerous Summer then went through a hiatus after AJ Perdomo’s departure in 2014, before resuming activity in 2017. That relaunch opened a new phase in their discography with the self-titled album The Dangerous Summer in 2018, followed by Mother Nature in 2019. In 2020 the band also released the EP All That Is Left of the Blue Sky on their own label Molly Water Music. Now refocused around AJ Perdomo and Josh Withenshaw, The Dangerous Summer continued with Coming Home in 2022 and Gravity in 2024, maintaining an aesthetic between emotional rock, clear choruses and the collective energy derived from the melodic punk scene.
