The Aristocrats

The Aristocrats are an international trio featuring British guitarist Guthrie Govan, American bassist Bryan Beller and German drummer Marco Minnemann, operating in the sphere of instrumental rock and jazz fusion. Formed in the early 2010s after shared concerts in the United States, the group developed, with The Aristocrats (2011), Culture Clash (2013) and Tres Caballeros (2015), a repertoire that blends progressive rock, jazz fusion, metal touches, blues and more unexpected references to country and funk. The Aristocrats' compositions rely on elaborate structures, a strong sense of improvisation and frequent shifts in mood, while remaining essentially oriented toward live performance. From You Know What...? (2019) onward, the trio deepened this mix by exploiting greater contrasts of dynamics and textural play, and continued this work on regular tours in Europe, North America and Asia, where they perform both in specialised clubs and at rock, metal or jazz festivals, sometimes with expanded lineups such as the Polish string ensemble Primuz Chamber Orchestra.
