Solar Fake

Led by Berlin singer-songwriter Sven Friedrich, already known from Dreadful Shadows and later Zeraphine, Solar Fake has, since the late 2000s, followed an electro line combining synthpop, futurepop and dark wave influences. Founded in Berlin in 2007 as a solo project, Solar Fake develops a sound centered on Friedrich’s expressive voice, direct synthetic melodies and club-ready rhythms, with English lyrics that range from introspection and disenchantment to social observation. The debut album "Broken Grid" was released in 2008, followed by "Frontiers" (2011) and "Reasons to Kill" (2013), which established Solar Fake on the European electro‑indus scene. With "Another Manic Episode" (2015) and "You Win. Who Cares?" (2018) the project accentuated the contrast between catchy choruses and dark atmospheres, an approach continued on "Enjoy Dystopia" (2021). On stage, Solar Fake appears as a tight electronic lineup and is regularly booked on German‑language dark and alternative circuits.
