Sniper, formed in 1997 in Val-d’Oise by Aketo, Tunisiano, Blacko and DJ Boudj, quickly established themselves as one of the major acts in French rap. With an identity shaped by engagement, social observation and a writing style both raw and poetic, they made an impact as early as Du rire aux larmes in 2001, and confirmed their influence with Gravé dans la roche and Trait pour trait, two albums that became emblematic for a generation. Their style, blending storytelling, political awareness and powerful hooks, helped redefine the French rap landscape. After several years of hiatus and solo careers, Sniper further reinforced their cult status thanks to a loyal fanbase, tracks that withstand the passage of time and an aura still intact on stage and in the studio.
