Remo Drive
Formed in Bloomington, Minnesota, Remo Drive emerged from the American indie rock scene of the 2010s around brothers Erik and Stephen Paulson — respectively singer‑guitarist and bassist — with various drummers joining them on tour and in the studio. The band drew attention on the DIY emo and pop‑punk circuit with a self‑released debut, “Greatest Hits” (2017), featuring nervy guitars, melodic bass lines and lyrics focused on everyday unease and strained relationships. After signing to Epitaph Records, Remo Drive refined their songwriting on the EP “Pop Music” (2018) and on “Natural, Everyday Degradation” (2019), where the initial emo aesthetic blends more with indie rock and power‑pop influences, adopting a slightly more measured tempo and putting greater emphasis on vocal melodies. “A Portrait of an Ugly Man” (2020) continued this shift toward a more direct alternative rock, marked by clear riffs and a tight three‑piece sound. Remo Drive continue to alternate studio recordings and tours in mid‑size North American venues, maintaining a strong foothold on digital platforms and a fanbase rooted in house‑show and small‑venue culture.
