Ran-D
Born in Zeeland, North Brabant, Netherlands, Randy Wieland developed the Ran-D project in the early 2000s and entered the hardstyle scene in 2006 with the track “D-Pression”. Ran-D then progressed through Special Records and A2 Records before co-founding Roughstate Music in 2015 with Frequencerz, Adaro and B-Front. His sound is built on direct, melodic hardstyle, combining massive kicks, clear synth lines, vocal breaks and arrangements designed for large festival stages. Over the years Ran-D has released tracks that became cornerstones of his catalogue, such as “Living for the Moment” (2009), “Firestarter” (2015), “Zombie” (2017) and “Hurricane” (2018). Alongside his solo career, he formed the duo Gunz For Hire with Adaro in 2011, which developed a darker, narrative aesthetic at the intersection of hardstyle and rawstyle. Ran-D has also collaborated with Alpha2, Zany, B-Front, Phuture Noize, Crypsis, Endymion and Digital Punk, and regularly appears on stages like Qlimax, Defqon.1, Reverze, Decibel Outdoor, Q-BASE and The Qontinent. In 2017 Ran-D was also featured as the centrepiece of an X-Qlusive edition in Amsterdam.
