Portion Boys

Born in Helsinki in 2010, Portion Boys established themselves in Finnish pop oriented toward dance-pop, propelled by collective choruses, festive rhythms, and rap passages, in a band format mixing singing, rap, keyboards, drums and live performance. The members, coming from paths between Isojoki and Tampere, first made themselves known by publishing their songs on YouTube before releasing their singles via Sony Music Finland from 2014. The group gained visibility in the mid-2010s with tracks like Pokemoneja in 2016, Karjala takas in 2017, and Mieleni pahoitin in 2019, affirming a style that combines Finnish-language pop, festive energy and self-assured humor. In 2021, Portion Boys welcomed Aapo Vuori as the new lead singer, replacing Jyrki Paavola, a year that also saw the release of the EP Suomalainen joulu. The group then broadened its audience with Vauhti kiihtyy, recorded with Matti ja Teppo, and subsequently participated in Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2023, Finland's selection for Eurovision, with Samaa taivasta katsotaan. It continues this momentum with new singles, including Juhannusyö in 2024.
