Parker Millsap

Originally from Purcell, Oklahoma, singer-songwriter Parker Millsap develops an American folk sound steeped in country, blues and gospel, shaped by a childhood in a Pentecostal church and by the small-town imagery of the U.S. South. First noticed on the local scene with the duo record “Parker Millsap and Michael Rose” (2010), he reached a wider audience with “Palisade” (2012) and then a self-titled album in 2014 that placed him within the Americana current alongside artists he frequently shares bills with, such as Old Crow Medicine Show and Patty Griffin. His music blends an expressive voice, acoustic instrumentation centered on guitar and fiddle, and narrative songwriting where intimate stories, biblical references and social portraits intersect. “The Very Last Day” (2016) deepened this mix of gospel and dark folk, while “Other Arrangements” (2018) introduced more pop-oriented structures and a stronger rock edge. Active on the circuit of folk, country and roots venues and festivals in the U.S. and Europe, he continued this evolution with “Be Here Instead” (2021), featuring softer, more ballad-oriented sounds while retaining a grounding in the American acoustic tradition.
