Raul Midón
Raul Midón is one of those artists who can turn an empty stage into a genuine musical storm. An American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist born blind, he developed an exceptionally precise auditory perception early on that shapes all of his art. Blending soul, jazz, folk, blues, R&B and Latin music, he has forged a unique style in which his warm voice converses with virtuosic guitar playing—featuring percussive techniques, complex harmonies and his famous trumpet imitations produced solely with his voice. He came to prominence alongside figures such as Bill Withers, Herbie Hancock and Sting, and established himself as a solo artist with a series of critically acclaimed albums, including Bad Ass and Blind and If You Really Want, both nominated for Grammy Awards in the Best Jazz Vocal category. On stage, his magnetic presence and sense of improvisation create an immediate bond with the audience, delivering performances of rare intensity. With Lost & Found, his thirteenth album, he asserts his artistic independence more than ever, self-producing a repertoire where lyricism, groove, virtuosity and deep humanity meet.
