October London

Born in South Bend, Indiana, October London crafts an R&B rooted in classic soul, strongly influenced by the 1970s while keeping a contemporary sensibility. Later based on the West Coast, he came to attention in the mid-2010s with a series of EPs titled Color Blind, which established a sound built on melodic ballads, introspective songwriting and slow, slow-jam-like atmospheres. Close to Snoop Dogg’s circle and Death Row Records, October London has collaborated extensively within the West Coast rap and G-funk scenes, lending a crooner-like soul voice to modern hip‑hop and funk productions. His album The Rebirth of Marvin (2023) openly engages with Marvin Gaye’s legacy through warm arrangements, dense backing vocals and notable use of falsetto, while retaining current R&B structures and themes. Between vintage influences, mid‑tempo groove rhythms and lyrics focused on relationships and male vulnerability, October London occupies a space at the crossroads of retro soul, contemporary R&B and collaborations with the American rap scene.
