New Candys

Active since the late 2000s, New Candys are part of Venice, Italy’s independent rock scene, with a sound that blends psychedelic rock, neo-psychedelia and shoegaze touches. The band is structured as a quartet around singer-guitarist Fernando Nuti and has over the years developed a world of saturated guitars, repetitive rhythms and dark atmospheres, where straightforward melodies and long hypnotic passages coexist. New Candys made a name for themselves on the European club and venue circuit before expanding their international touring, notably on stages dedicated to contemporary psychedelic music, regularly sharing bills with other independent rock acts. Their discography centers on several studio albums, including “Stars Reach The Abyss” (2012), “New Candys As Medicine” (2015), “Bleeding Magenta” (2017) and “Vyvyd” (2021), which mark different stages in the balance between garage energy, post‑punk tension and more dreamlike moods. Through line‑up changes, New Candys have refined a sonic identity focused on relatively concise song structures, an emphasis on guitar textures and frequent use of repetitive motifs, placing the band in an ongoing dialogue with 1960s psych traditions while remaining rooted in contemporary rock aesthetics.
