Petit Biscuit
Born in 1999 in Rouen, French producer and composer Mehdi Benjelloun adopted the moniker Petit Biscuit early on for his electronic projects. Trained in cello and guitar, he developed a sound blending melodic electronica, chillwave, future bass, and electronic pop, built around airy synth lines, chopped vocals, and song-like structures. Petit Biscuit drew attention in the mid-2010s by posting his first tracks online, then gathered these productions on the 2016 EP "Petit Biscuit," which features "Sunset Lover" and significantly broadened his audience. The 2017 album "Presence" confirmed this direction toward accessible, melody-driven electronic music, with a few targeted collaborations, notably with Lido. Petit Biscuit subsequently toured venues and festivals across Europe and North America, while releasing numerous singles and features with artists from the pop and electronic scenes. In 2020, Mehdi Benjelloun released "Parachute," Petit Biscuit’s second album, which continued exploring a balance between introspective textures, tempered club rhythms, and sung refrains.
