Mr. Polska

Born in Toruń, Poland in 1989 and settled in the Netherlands since childhood, Mr. Polska, real name Dominik Włodzimierz Czajka-Groot, develops rap at the crossroads of Dutch and Polish scenes, with a marked taste for electronic productions, club rhythms and direct choruses. Active since the late 2000s, he first came to notice under the name Polski before releasing the EP De Voorbereiding in 2007, then De Boswachter EP in 2011. Trained at the Herman Brood Academy, Mr. Polska emerges at a time when Dutch hip-hop opened more to grime, trap, electro house, drum and bass and dubstep influences, a blend that also runs through his first album Waardevolle Gezelligheid in 2012 and then $noller in 2015. The rest of his career shows a progressive shift toward more hybrid formats between festive rap, urban pop and electronic music, notably on De Sloper in 2018. From 2019, Mr. Polska strengthens his presence in Poland with several collaborations and a more regular Polish repertoire, before releasing the albums Bajki na dobranoc in 2020, Make Money & Crash Cars in 2021 and +48 in 2024. Mr. Polska thus moves between two languages, two markets and several aesthetics, with rhythmic writing and tracks designed as much for the club as for rap.
