Melé
Based in Liverpool, Melé has developed since the late 2000s a club sound that connects house, UK funky, bass music and percussive techno. His first tracks appeared around 2010 in the wake of British scenes defined by syncopated rhythms and prominent basslines, before Melé gradually steered his work toward a more direct, tense and tribal house, nourished by Afro‑Latin motifs and composed with the dancefloor in mind. This shift is particularly evident on the 2017 release Drums of Freedom, which clarified Melé’s place on a club circuit extending well beyond Britain. As a DJ he moves between underground stages and wider contexts, from Great Britain to Ibiza, with a set centred on percussion, rhythmic propulsion and deliberately tight arrangements. Over the years Melé has maintained a consistent aesthetic line, where the legacy of British club culture meets a physical, mobile house open to global influences while remaining firmly rooted in club music.
