Mahom

The French duo Mahom, formed in 2005 around Antoine and Joris, develops a dub sound nourished by the legacy of the English scene, reggae conventions and a more electronic approach, with motifs that also borrow from world music sonorities. The project initially took shape on record with Underground Dubwise in 2011 on the netlabel ODG, then broadened its vocabulary by mixing stepper, bass music, darker textures and melodic passages. This evolution is especially evident on Fell In (2017), where Mahom opened its writing to other musical colors and several guests, including Art-X, Thomas Kahn and Molecule. At the same time, the duo multiplied vinyl formats — a central element of dub culture — and collaborated with artists and producers such as Panda Dub, Ashkabad and Tetra Hydro K. Mahom also developed the Bass Trooperz project with Ashkabad in 2016. Present on dub and bass stages in France and across several European countries, Mahom built its trajectory through live performance, with several hundred concerts where its compositions take on a more direct and physical form.
