Konx-om-Pax

Born in Glasgow, Tom Scholefield, under the name Konx-Om-Pax, develops a body of work situated between electronic music, visual arts and design, linked to his time at the Glasgow School of Art. His alias, borrowed from a Giacinto Scelsi piece, accompanies an aesthetic made of ambient, IDM, bass music and abstract electronics, where textures, off-kilter rhythms and sci‑fi atmospheres play a central role. Konx-Om-Pax emerged in the early 2010s, notably with the album Regional Surrealism released in 2012 on Planet Mu, then continuing in this path with Caramel in 2016 and Ways of Seeing in 2019, refining a writing that is both contemplative and physical. In parallel with his solo releases, Konx-Om-Pax pursues graphic design and direction, signing album covers, short films and John Cale's Face to the Sky video in 2012. Present on both open electronic stages receptive to experimental forms and contexts close to contemporary art, Konx-Om-Pax circulates a dense, detailed and immersive instrumental music, designed for attentive listening as well as the club.
