Karl William

Born in Aarhus in 1995, Danish singer Karl William Wandahl emerged in the early 2010s as part of the Aarhus-based collective Hukaos, where he appears notably on the EP “1. sal” and the track “Kostumeramt” alongside Tais and Louis Rustum. Karl William soon developed a solo project in Danish that blends pop, R&B and a melancholic electronic aesthetic driven by slow tempos and atmospheric production. The EP “Døende” (2014) placed him on the national scene, followed in 2015 by the album “Placebo”, created with a small core of composers and producers from his artistic circle, and the EP “Livet” in 2016. His lyrics remain centered on relationships, doubt and vulnerability, with often hushed vocals placed forward in the mix, fitting within a lineage of Scandinavian urban pop. Karl William received the P3 Talentet award in 2015 and the P3 Prisen in 2016, confirming his place in the new generation of Danish pop, while continuing to release singles and collaborations, notably the 2018 track “Samme Vej” with Burhan G.
