Jennifer Rostock
Formed in 2007 around Jennifer Weist and Johannes Walter, joined by Alex Voigt, Christoph Deckert and Christopher Kohl, Jennifer Rostock hails from the Usedom island in northern Germany and has since developed from Berlin. The band plays German-language rock that blends punk rock, alternative rock, electro-punk and a hint of new wave, with direct, melodic and tense tracks, powered by prominent synthesizers and a frontal vocal. After an initial national visibility at the Bundesvision Song Contest 2008 with 'Kopf oder Zahl', Jennifer Rostock released several studio albums that mark its evolution: Ins offene Messer in 2008, Der Film in 2009, Mit Haut und Haar in 2011, Schlaflos in 2014, Genau in diesem Ton in 2016, followed by Worst Of Jennifer Rostock in 2017, composed of unreleased tracks reworked. On stage, Jennifer Rostock circulated between Berlin clubs, German-speaking tours and festivals, while asserting an identity where punk energy intersects with pop choruses and often incisive lyrics. The band also went through a hiatus starting in 2018, before announcing its return in 2026 with the track 'Wir schon wieder' and a new lineup for guitar and bass.
