Krafty Kuts

Krafty Kuts, the stage name of Martin Reeves, has built his career in England around breakbeat, blending big beat, hip‑hop, funk, electro and bass music with an approach designed for both the club and for mixing. Active as a DJ and producer since the late 1990s, Krafty Kuts is part of the British electronic scene through his sets, remixes and collaborations, notably with A Skillz, another artist associated with the intersection of breakbeats and hip‑hop culture. As head of the Against The Grain label, he released Freakshow in 2006 — featuring, among others, Tim Deluxe and Ashley Slater — then contributed a volume to the Back to Mine series before issuing Against the Grain in 2009, a double mix made up of previously unreleased re‑edits. His style relies on broken rhythms, pronounced bass lines, influences from funk and a DJ energy oriented toward groove, which has secured his place in the breakbeat and bass music circuits.
