The Allergies

Based in Bristol, The Allergies bring together DJ Moneyshot and Rackabeat, two British producers and DJs who emerged in the mid-2010s with a blend of funk, soul, breaks and hip-hop centred on sampling and a strong DJ-set culture. The duo launched their discography with As We Do Our Thing in 2016 and developed that direction on Steal The Show (2018), Say The Word (2020) and Promised Land (2022), honing a sound where brass, soul loops, boom-bap rhythms and tracks crafted for the dancefloor coexist with a clear sense of song structure. The Allergies move between clubs, radio and festivals, both as DJs and in larger live formations, and regularly feature vocalists from rap and soul depending on the project. Their work combines turntablism’s legacy, textures drawn from 1960s and 1970s funk and clean production into a direct, danceable aesthetic rooted in the British groove scene.
