infinite bisous
Under the name infinite bisous, Rory McCarthy, an Irish‑English musician, composer and producer, has been developing since 2013 a project that sits between indie pop, oblique chanson and psychedelic hues. His songwriting is gentle, the arrangements muted, and the production works with textures without weighing down the tracks. infinite bisous operates in a register that is both melodic and floating, where discreet rhythms, flexible harmonies and a certain lo‑fi sensibility meet more dreamy, handcrafted forms of pop. Alongside this project, Rory McCarthy co‑founded the musical collective Charnwood, Tasty Morsels, highlighting his place in a collaborative scene. Over the course of his career, infinite bisous has worked with Connan Mockasin, Mac DeMarco, Beck, Metronomy and Flavien Berger — collaborations that accompany the evolution of his musical language without changing its personal format. His discography includes W/ Love (2017), several tracks from which were used in HBO’s High Maintenance, then Period (2019) and Any‑Day‑Now (2022). Album by album, infinite bisous preserves this way of combining intimate pop, light experimental detours and an ear for sonic detail.
