Sean Nicholas Savage

Long established in Montreal after spending his childhood in Edmonton, Canada, singer-songwriter Sean Nicholas Savage is part of the independent scene associated with Arbutus Records. Active since the late 2000s, he crafts intimate, slightly lo-fi pop influenced by soft rock, synth-driven ballads and subtle RnB inflections, characterized by very melodic songwriting and often spare vocals. He has released numerous full-length albums and gained attention with records such as «Other Life» (2013), «Bermuda Waterfall» (2014), «Other Death» (2015) and «Yummycoma» (2017), followed by «Life Is Crazy» (2020) and «Shine» (2022), which continue his exploration of pared-down pop forms. On stage, Sean Nicholas Savage favors understated setups, performing solo or with small ensembles in club venues and indie-music contexts across Europe and North America. Alongside his recordings he frequently collaborates within the Montreal scene and makes occasional appearances in film, anchoring his work at the intersection of singer-songwriter craft, DIY culture and contemporary pop.
