Henrik Freischlader
Guitarist, singer and blues-rock composer born in 1982 in Wuppertal, Germany, Henrik Freischlader established himself from the mid-2000s on the German-speaking club scene with a guitar style marked by electric blues and British rock. Performing as the Henrik Freischlader Band, he developed a repertoire where rock riffs, extended improvisations, soulful ballads and funk influences intersect, supported by English-language lyrics and a live, direct sound aesthetic. He released his first studio album, “The Blues”, in 2006, followed by “Get Closer” (2007) and “Recorded by Martin Meinschäfer” (2009), which set his course as a singer-songwriter and independent producer, then “Once in a Blue Moon” (2011), “House in the Woods” (2012) and “Night Train to Budapest” (2013). In the studio Freischlader often records almost single-handedly, handling guitars, bass, drums and vocals, while on stage he usually appears with a tight band built around a groove-oriented rhythm section. Active on European blues circuits, he tours clubs, plays at specialist festivals and undertakes occasional collaborations with other blues-rock musicians, consolidating over the years a discography focused on modern blues and its derivatives.
