Behind the name Jessica93 is Geoffroy Laporte, a musician from the Paris region who launched the project in 2010 after several years in the French DIY indie scene. Jessica93 operates in a dark, abrasive rock vein where grunge, shoegaze and post-punk intersect, with tracks driven by thick guitars, repetitive rhythms and a vocal often delivered in a detached register. At first Geoffroy Laporte recorded alone, playing all the instruments himself, before Jessica93 also took on a band form on stage. The early records circulated in very independent circles, but the project gained wider visibility with Rise in 2014 — a year marked by a presence at Rock en Seine and tours in France and across several European countries. Jessica93’s discography includes S/T (2012), Who Cares (2013), Rise (2014), Guilty Species (2017) and 666 Tours de Périph’ (2025). Across these releases Jessica93 has evolved his songwriting without abandoning a raw aesthetic, balancing noise-driven tension, melodies submerged in saturation and an approach firmly rooted in French alternative rock culture.
