Frustration

Formed in Paris in the early 2000s, Frustration are part of the Francophone post‑punk revival, blending cold‑wave heritage, punk energy and minimalist synth textures. Based in the Paris region and aligned with the Born Bad Records label, the band crafts a taut, repetitive sound driven by a straight‑ahead rhythm section, prominent bass lines, dark keyboards and vocals more often chanted than sung. After several EPs in the mid‑2000s, Frustration crystallized their identity with the album Relax in 2008, followed by Uncivilized in 2012, Empires of Shame in 2016 and So Cold Streams in 2019, all of which carry forward the same raw, band‑centric approach. Their lyrics, mostly in English, address social and existential themes in a direct, unadorned style. A strong live presence, Frustration play numerous club and festival shows in France and across Europe, embedding themselves in a network of independent venues that bridges the punk scene, alternative rock and cold‑wave‑related music.
