Gonzi
Maltese producer and DJ Gonzi has been developing, since the early 2010s, a career built at the intersection of several electronic scenes. His music moves from psytrance to techno and then to hardcore, without settling permanently in a single framework; his work is founded on taut rhythms, psychedelic build-ups, abrasive textures and tempo changes inherited from rave culture. This way of circulating codes has often been associated with the idea of minimalcore, a term present in Gonzi’s universe and useful for situating his approach. Gonzi’s trajectory unfolds through releases of tracks and remixes, regular appearances on club and festival circuits, and ties to Medusa Records as well as Deluxo, another project linked to his activity. Across these different forms, Gonzi pursues the same compositional principle, blurring the boundaries between techno, trance and hardcore in tracks conceived for the dancefloor.
