James Leg

Under the name James Leg, John Wesley Myers has built a career rooted in the American garage-blues scene, after stints with The Immortal Lee County Killers and the Nashville duo Black Diamond Heavies. As a solo artist, James Leg blends blues rock, punk blues, boogie, gritty soul and gospel echoes into songs centered on piano and organ, driven by a raspy voice and a frequently massive sense of rhythm. His solo discography begins with Solitary Pleasures (2013), followed by Below the Belt (2015). Through tours across the United States and Europe, James Leg has moved comfortably between blues circuits and garage/indie rock stages, offering concise songwriting and a raw sound that sits between rhythm-and-blues tradition and the tension of underground rock.
