IAMX
Launched in London in 2002 after Sneaker Pimps went on hiatus, IAMX extends Chris Corner’s trajectory as a solo project. Initially operating between England and Berlin, it later moved to Southern California. The IAMX project occupies a dark electronic register where synthpop, electronic rock, noir cabaret, industrial touches and more abstract experiments intersect; tracks alternate between rhythmic tension, melancholic ballads and nocturnal moods. The first phase of IAMX’s discography took shape with Kiss + Swallow (2004), followed by The Alternative (2006), Kingdom of Welcome Addiction (2009), Volatile Times (2011), The Unified Field (2013) and Metanoia (2015). IAMX then broadened its scope with Unfall (2017), an instrumental and experimental album, and continued with Alive in New Light (2018), Echo Echo (2020), Machinate (2021), Fault Lines¹ (2023) and Fault Lines² (2024). Songwriting, production and the visual identity have remained largely driven by Chris Corner, with notable collaborations such as Imogen Heap on "My Secret Friend" and Jim Abbiss on The Unified Field and Unfall. On stage, IAMX operates as a solo project supported by a live band, in concerts where images, lighting and spatial design directly extend the musical aesthetic.
