Elie Zoé

Originally from Lausanne, Switzerland, Elie Zoé develops an independent rock world where intimate songwriting, gritty electric guitars and slowcore‑tinged atmospheres intertwine. Trained initially as a guitarist—notably in Anna Aaron’s band and later in the duo Autisti with Louis Jucker—the artist established themself as Emilie Zoé in the early 2010s on the Romande alternative scene, in connection with the Hummus Records label. Early releases, including the EP Dead End Tape (2013), laid down English‑language songwriting focused on the voice, spare structures and a taste for slow tempos. The first full‑length The Very Start (2018) expanded this foundation into a broader indie rock, where electric ballads and noisier climates meet. In 2020 the project Pigeons – Soundtrack for the Birds on the Treetops Watching the Movie of Our Lives, conceived with composer Christian Garcia‑Gaucher, explored a narrative soundtrack form between songs and instrumental pieces. With Hello Future Me (2022), again released via Hummus, Elie Zoé continued this work of electric songs with minimalist arrangements, performed live solo or in small lineups at clubs and festivals across Switzerland and Europe.
