Elias Dris
Between Paris and Los Angeles, Elias Dris has been developing since the mid-2010s a songwriting voice that sits between folk, alternative pop and acoustic rock, with a clear taste for stripped-down melodies, vocal harmonies and a songwriting style nourished by American references. His debut album, Gold In The Ashes, was released in 2017 on Vicious Circle after recording in Nevada City, California, with Tom Menig. On it he establishes a restrained universe focused on voice, guitar and arrangements that leave plenty of room for the lyrics. In 2019 Elias Dris recorded Homeward Bound: Songs of Simon & Garfunkel with Morgane Imbeaud, a covers album dedicated to the American folk duo, and released the same year his second solo album, Beatnik or Not to Be, where his approach opens toward a broader pop while keeping a folk foundation. On stage, Elias Dris has supported artists such as Lou Doillon, Shannon Wright, Selah Sue, Girls in Hawaii and Suede, and he also takes part in musical reading formats at literary festivals. In 2024 Elias Dris continues his path with the singles The Void and Los Angeles, recorded in a more personal vein and accompanied by videos he produced himself.
