Astral Bakers

Formed in Paris in the early 2020s, Astral Bakers brings together several musicians already active on the French indie pop scene around a project focused on melodic, slow, and deliberately stripped-back indie rock. The band writes songs mostly sung in English, built on guitars with soft textures, understated rhythms and prominent vocal harmonies, sitting between contemporary folk, dream pop and alternative rock. The first released tracks establish an aesthetic centered on intimate atmospheres and electric-ballad formats, with particular attention to slow dynamics and the use of silence. Astral Bakers gradually carved out a place on club stages and mid-sized venues in France, and later in a few European capitals, offering a repertoire conceived both for live performance and for recorded listening. This trajectory culminated in the release of a debut studio album, The Whole Story, in 2024, which crystallizes the project’s sonic identity and synthesizes the different facets of Astral Bakers’ songwriting, from introspective lyrics and minimalist arrangements to more rock-oriented approaches.
