GoldLink
Active since the early 2010s, GoldLink has established himself as one of the distinctive voices of Washington, D.C. rap, associated with the DMV scene. The rapper has developed a style often described as “future bounce,” where hip‑hop is blended with R&B, house and electronic influences and club‑derived rhythms, with a pronounced contrast between rapid flows and more melodic passages. GoldLink came to attention with the mixtape The God Complex in 2014, followed by And After That, We Didn't Talk in 2015 — projects widely circulated online that put his name beyond his home region. His debut studio album, At What Cost, was released in 2017 and explores the DMV world in depth both thematically and sonically; he followed with Diaspora in 2019, oriented toward collaborations and Afro‑Caribbean influences, and HARAM! in 2021, which has a darker tone. A regular on North American and European stages, GoldLink has teamed up with producers and musicians such as Kaytranada and Anderson .Paak, consolidating a trajectory at the intersection of rap, contemporary soul and electronic music.
